ZSDJ Directly-inserting two-way self-locking multi-functional steel pipe scaffold is a brand-new multi-functional scaffold. The designer summarized the advantages and disadvantages of various domestic and foreign scaffolds, especially which of the steel pipe scaffold in the past century. Meanwhile, he collected the problems that occur during the using process of steel pipe scaffold and other steel structural support equipments, and accumulated a large amount of relevant data. Then, the designer raise a brand new design idea and design the DZDJ two-way self-locking scaffold by using modern computer technology on the principles of theoretical mechanics and space fixing geometry.

- 1. Reliable Two-way Self-locking Ability
Firstly, the locking function of the joint of horizontal pole and vertical pole is mainly achieved and ensured by its design structure, which minimizes the safe hazard by reducing operators' work in locking scaffolds.
Secondly, unlike traditional scaffold that several horizontal and vertical poles shares one interlock at a node, ZSDJ Two-way Self-locking Scaffold applies to independent and non-interfering locking. In the circumstance that one pole loosens, other poles will still work. It solves the problems of unreasonable stress of horizontal pole and makes the steel pipe mechanical strength to an extreme. Meanwhile, it makes earlier disassembling safer and more reliable. - 2. No Flexible Parts

Mechanical Property and Design Load
The node of ZSDJ Directly-inserting Two-way Self-locking Multi-functional Steel Pipe Scaffold consists of a ZSDJ rotary, ZSDJ plug, and outside circle of welded pipe.
Vertical pole is a pipe with a ZSDJ rotary welded for every 600mm and a sleeve welded at the end on basis of special technical standard; while horizontal pole is made by a welded pipe with one ZSDJ plugs at both ends of the pipe.
Setting up: Insert the ZSDJ plugs at each end of the horizontal pole into the relevant taper slot on vertical pole, and then hammer the plug to fasten it. Each ZSDJ rotary can horizontally connect with four ZSDJ horizontal poles. Vertical pole can be extended when insert it into the sleeve of another one.
Inspection on weld strength of ZSDJ plugs and welded pipe of vertical pole: no damage under 60KN;

- 1. Comparison on locking modes
Cup-lock scaffold is composed of stamping lower cup and malleable iron upper cup (also called flexible fastener). During the installation of horizontal poles, the upper cup must be screwed off before inserting the horizontal pole into the lower cup and screwed on after that. The upper cup needs to be moved up and down for 8 times when installing horizontal poles in four directions, which necessitate a strong work force and long working hours.
For the Double Self-locking Scaffold, all you need to do is to insert the plug of the horizontal poles into tapered hole of rotary table on vertical pole and hammer on it. It saves time and labor for the users. - 2. Comparison on wearing parts
During the locking of cup-lock scaffold, the workers must take the iron hammer to tap two projecting parts of upper cup casted by malleable iron. The upper cup split easily if workers hammer on the cup body. Thus the vertical pole cannot be used with other vertical poles.
As the rotary table and plug are made by cast steel, there will be no rupture when the workers hammer them. - 3. Erection Comparison
As the upper cup of cup-lock scaffold is flexible fastener and is arranged for every 600mm, if workers accidentally erect the vertical pole, the upper cup will drop down suddenly from above and tear off the skin or even result in industrial injury.
As Double Self-locking Scaffold has no flexible fasteners or spare parts, the above situation will never occur. - 4. Safety Comparison
As the interlocking of horizontal pole on the top of cup-lock scaffold depends on moving upper cup completely, if the horizontal pole in one direction loosens, the horizontal poles in other directions may loosen as well. This is extremely dangerous during the construction. - 5. Comparison on Erection Area and Price
The price of Double Self-locking Scaffold is higher than cup-lock scaffold. However, for the erection area per ton, another more 5m3 can be erected for Double Self-locking Scaffold.

- 1. Comparison of Spare Parts
Frame system scaffold: cross tension rod, connecting rod, bolt and adjustable rod;
Two-way Self-locking scaffold: no spare parts or moving locking parts. - 2. Stability Comparison
Frame system scaffold: at least 2mm gap between cross tension rod and bolt connecting parts; big moving scope, poor stability and low safety factor;
Two-way Self-locking Scaffold: no gap between the plug on the cross rod when inserting into the rotary table on vertical pole. Due to design features, the plug can fit closely with the rotary table and they are integrated as a whole, which greatly enhances the stability and intensity. - 3. Comparison of Erecting Working Efficiency
Frame system scaffold: at least 4 workers are needed to coordinate with each other during the erecting, which is time-consuming and requires a lot of labor; each piece of frame system scaffold weights 25KG, thus the erecting process may lasts for a long time and it is quite dangerous.
Two-way Self-locking Scaffold: only 2 workers are needed to coordinate with each other, which is labor and time saving. In addition, the weight of 1.8m and 1.2m vertical pole is respectively 10.52kg and 7.3kg, and the cross rod is even lighter than vertical pole, which make the installation much more simple. - 4. Comparison of Accessory Parts
Due to the instability of frame system scaffold, steel pipe fasteners must be used to reinforce every floor of frame system during the erecting. The higher, the more fasteners should be used, which increase the working intensity, slow down the erection speed and increase the economic input & safety risk.
Two-way Self-locking Scaffold: due to its own strong stability, diagonal bracing and bottom transoms are occasionally needed during the erecting. For the height lower than 10m, no bridging is needed for reinforcement, which saves larger amount of manpower and economic input. - 5. Storage Comparison
Frame system scaffold: as there are many small spare parts without ex-factory package, the amount checking is quite troublesome. The parts are likely to be buried in the earth or stolen during the construction and cause unnecessary loss.

Attentions in Using ZSDJ
- 1. Erection should be carried out in accordance with the principle of from low to high in vertical, and in turn in horizontal; disassembly should be implemented in accordance with the principle of from high to low in vertical and in turn in horizontal.
- 2. Requirement of this scaffold on ground is the same as that of other scaffolds. Please use adjustable base jack when the ground is rough. Do horizontal adjustments after the erection of the horizontal and vertical poles of first and second layer is finished: make sure that the horizontal poles at the same layer on the same plane while upright poles arranged in line before continue erecting.
- 3. Dead weight should not be considered and calculated into load until the height of the scaffold excess 10m. To ensure the overall strength and stability of scaffold, the extension joint of upright poles should not at a same horizontal plane. It is necessary to set enough bottom transom and relevant large amount of diagonal poles if the scaffold height excess 15m under the circumstance that the foundation is in normal condition (in special situation: when the foundation strength is inconsistent and the projected area is too small, bottom transom and diagonal poles should be erected even the scaffold height is less than 15m). During the setting up process of external scaffold, double frames should be erected, and wall connecting poles and bottom transom should be erected when the scaffold height excess 8m.
- 4. When this scaffold is used independently in open air, the height envelop of the project is 8m in using 1 unit while 12m in using 2units. And it's essential to set wall connecting poles and diagonal bracing. Stable wind cables are preferred when necessary.
- 5. This scaffold can conveniently mix with cup-lock scaffold, ring-lock scaffold: use a transition pole at the joint of two different kinds of scaffolds in horizontal direction; insert and connect two upright poles in vertical direction.
- 6. Prohibit throwing components and accessories of scaffold from high places in transportation, storage and using and falling or hitting it heavily. Need clean and damage inspection after using. Prevent corrosion when stored and repaint it if necessary.
